In the over 32 years I served as a professional firefighter and Fire Chief, I have had the privilege of witnessing incredible displays of leadership that produced lifesaving results. I have also had audience to some of the worst examples of what a leader should be and the fallout from it. More tragically, I ride around and watch the faces of people who never had a chance in life because they had no access, or desire, to leverage the tools and talents available to them for ultimate success.
